"One Glance into God's Water Garden" - Photo Impressions by Dubi Roman - Giverny, July 2007. For years, my heart went after the French Impressionism; I particularly loved Claude Monet's ways of seeing the world. I started to search for photographic ways to enrich the viewer's senses, experiencing nature's many spheres. I started to experiment with photographic techniques to recreate such expressions. Finally, I developed my unique style of Impressionistic photography. For years, my heart was captured by French Impressionism. I particularly loved Claude Monet's vision of the world. In 1994 I started to search for a way to use photography to enhance the viewer's senses and ways to experience the many aspects of nature. I concentrated on the intimate touches of nature - the frailty, the smell of mud after the rain, the sight of flowers blowing in the wind and nature's great sense of freedom. Creating my special images in Israel and other places in the world became an important expression of my identity in the establishment of my unique impressionistic style. Thirteen years after beginning my impressionistic odyssey, I felt quite ready for the real challenge - visiting Claude Monet's water garden in Giverny when the lily was in bloom. In July 2007, I fulfilled my dream and finally visited my sources of inspiration. The time I spent in Giverny exceeded my highest expectations. It enabled me to internalize his world and create a new series of Impressionistic photographs of the blossoming water lilies at Claude Monet's magnificent garden. I believe these unique photographic images have brought me as close as I could ever dream to Claude Monet's Impressionism. You may view my Water Lilies studies at the gallery linked below.
